Signing off on Term One..

12th Dec 2019

It’s been a really busy three months for 6th Class. The first term has flown by and there’s been many changes in our great school.... new windows, new rooms and new furniture! The place looks great :)

Back in the 1st week of September we had trials for the Boys Gaelic team. Unfortunately we were knocked out in the group stages and the girls team were knocked out in the quarter finals. It was sad because it was our last tournament but it meant that the indoor soccer could start sooner. Meanwhile, Halloween was fast approaching. On the last day before Halloween we dressed up in our Halloween costumes. It was good fun and we raised some money for the school through our efforts. When we came back from the Halloween break we got new furniture in our class and the 6th class indoor soccer tournament kicked off. There were eight teams competing with ‘Readybrek’ beating ‘Oogers’ in the final. The girls final is on Friday...Cheeky Spuds v Jammy Dodgers. Should be a classic :)

In November, when we returned from mid-term break we were straight into preparing for Science Week. It was really enjoyable and we learned loads. We also missed a lot of class work preparing! On Friday, we all headed to the hall to show off our experiments. Also, the winners for the Science mascot were announced.

As it was Science Week, the four 6th Classes got to go to Explorium - Science and Sports Centre. In Explorium, they were doing Science Month. It was really good. They had something called the Lightning Room, where they created lightning. They also showed us some science experiments to do with Global Warming.

Over the last few months our baking groups have been busy making delicious treats for the class. Every few weeks a group picks something to bake and at the end of the week everyone gets to enjoys the delicious treats.

It is almost Christmas so we have started to learn our Christmas songs and have been making Christmas decorations out of recycled materials to decorate the School tree. It's a lovely time of the year in school. So, one week and counting until we get our holidays. It’s going to be a busy one but we are all looking forward to our last ever Christmas concert and coming back in January well rested and ready for term 2!
