Croke Park Champions!
Read a full match report written by one of our third class pupils below:
The weather was nice and sunny for Bayside playing St. Brigid’s in the final in Croke Park. There were so many people there, it was very loud. We got there by bus - the whole Bayside Senior school! Everybody was so, so, so excited to go to Croke Park. We made headbands before we went, I even got a Bayside bracelet. When we got there all the players were warming up. Their coach called them in for a team talk, but then the match started. Bayside were in the colours red and black and St. Brigid’s were in orange and black. At the start, St. Brigid’s got two points but then Bayside got a goal. Then both of the teams kept scoring goals and points but at half time Bayside were losing by three points. I was pretty sad because Bayside were losing. The second half started with Bayside scoring lots of goals and points. Bayside won at the end and they won a big trophy and it is in the school. We got home on a bus. The players brought the trophy back to the school and I hope Bayside win again next year and hope in two years I will make it on to the hurling team and play in Croke Park one day. I even got a high five off five of the players from the Bayside team. Now the trophy is finally ours for good. We didn’t win it last year but we won it this year. Hopefully we can win it again next year!
