In preparation for Catholic Schools Week here in Bayside SNS, Ms. Carberry sourced some rushes and Room 10 made St. Brigid's crosses. Last year Mr. Reddy’s class (now in Room 4) led fundraising for the children of Chernobyl after learning about the nuclear disaster. The money raised paid for a baby in Belarus to have heart surgery, as he was born with a heart defect known as Chernobyl heart. Adi Roche came to visit our school as a result and we have kept in touch with her. She is visiting the Vatican and is going to bring our crosses with her. One will be presented to the Holy See, one is for the rector of St. Isodore's College and the third we are hoping will be presented to Pope Francis. We are very excited to follow our crosses on this special journey and see the difference we can make. Watch this space for more updates!
